What will we find this year?

For the last two years, I think, our visits have been as "spectators." This year I believe the Lord will allow us to feel and experience some of what our brothers and sisters in Christ are experiencing each and every day in Kenya. We are SO privileged in this country, that we can't bear the thought of being without electricity, food, or water. I don't know about the rest of the team, but I am looking forward to being humbled by the experience. I am sickened at times by the amount of waste in this country, in this Rochester area. Lord, show us what it is like to suffer want, so that our hearts will be awakened to the great need of our fellow human beings in the rest of the world!

OK, I'll confess...I'm not looking forward to no power & cold showers! But here's what I'm pretty sure of, God will use it to grow me up some more. I agree to that we'll be experiencing some of what our Kenyan friends live with everyday, but we know we'll be going back to creature comforts at home...they have no escape from the grinding poverty that enrobes the country & continent.

May you all find peace and relaxation on the flight over (16 hours - what else IS there!), and joy in service to those in need.

Thank you for having the strength and courage to make this trip. Bring back their needs to us so we may also be humbled and enlightened.

i think that they are lucky to even be alive after what their land looks like and i hope god will be watching over them because i feel really sorry for them that they have to live their lives in a place that is filled with waste and i hope that they will have a good time with what they are learning and i hope that they will always believe in god for the rest of their lives and they will know that god will always be watching over them.

I wonder how it feels being without water and no power I wouldn't be very happy. but I know God will be with you whereever you go. May God be with You.
